Vivantio Nominated in Four Categories in UK IT Industry Awards
21/09/09The UK IT Industry Awards see a new venture between the British Computer Society (BCS) and Computing, merging the BCS IT Industry Awards and the Computing Awards for Excellence to create one platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.
A panel of industry experts have selected specialist service desk software vendor Vivantio as a finalist in the following categories.
· Best Technology Supplier of the Year
· Internet Product of the Year
· Best New Product Developed in the UK
· Systems Developer of the Year (Andrew Stevens)
Russell Wiltshire, co-founder of Vivantio commented: “To be nominated for one award would be cause for celebration, but four is a wonderful surprise and everyone at Vivantio is delighted that their hard work has been recognised in this way.”
Over the last year Vivantio Service Desk, Vivantio’s flagship product, has shaken up a fairly stagnant service desk market. Based on modern web technologies and delivered both on site and using the innovative software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, Vivantio Service Desk has seen huge success in 2009.
Greg Rich, co-founder of Vivantio believes the success is due to strong customer focus: “Customer satisfaction drives everything we do from product design to business strategy. This year we’ve achieved a 96% renewal rate – our customers are clearly very happy.”
The UK IT Industry Awards are very competitive. David Clarke, BCS chief executive says: “I’m particularly pleased to see so many entries in these difficult economic conditions; it reinforces the importance of IT in delivering business and social benefit. Our Awards are central to our drive to create the IT profession and the finalists can be proud of their achievements.”
Vivantio, a privately owned UK company headquartered near Bristol, has been nominated alongside much larger global companies such as Citrix, Red Hat and VMware, showing how far it has come in such a short time. Such recognition is almost unheard of in the service desk industry and Vivantio is the only service desk vendor present amongst 250 finalists in 25 categories.
Russell Wiltshire concludes: “We operate in a very competitive market and with the involvement of the BCS these are the most prestigious IT industry awards in the UK, so we are delighted to be rubbing shoulders with such successful companies. This is a great result for us and the other finalists, and we wish them all the best of luck.”
The winners and medallists will be announced at a gala dinner and awards evening at the Battersea Park Events Arena, London on 12 November 2009.
